Skyjacked shipment recovered
11 brand new Skyjack scissor lifts awaiting collection for shipping to the US have been recovered by local police by activating their built in Elevate telematics systems.
The scissor lifts were awaiting collection in a trucking company yard in Guelph-Eramosa, Canada, when a driver working for fraudulent company TT Transport entered the yard and loaded them and other items onto a stolen trailer branded as Elite Logix Trailer. The value of the shipment totaled around $300,000.

Skyjack’s Elevate system helped recover 11 stolen scissor lifts
When the scissor lifts failed to arrive, the customer notified Skyjack, which was able to activate the GPS tracking function on its Elevate telematics system and provide the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) - which had already opened an investigation after the shipper reported them missing - with their movements and activity.
Mike Sheremeta, telematics business development associate at Skyjack, said: “Elevate played a significant role in this story. The sophisticated backend capabilities allowed us to easily track movement of the stolen machines proving that beyond Elevate’s primary cost saving benefits to customers, it’s also a very effective theft recovery tool. We were able to watch the movement of these machines online while they were hundreds of kilometres away.”
Most of the lifts have now been recovered, however the matter is still under investigation. The OPP is asking anyone with information to call investigators on 1-888-310-1122, or to leave an anonymous tip on 1-800-222-8477.

Have a great and safe weekend.
They abound
I am surprised it hadn't drained the batteries. Maybe they have improved the wiring circuit.
