Three Wolff’s for Multiplex
The in-house equipment division of UK contractor Multiplex Plant and Equipment has purchased three Wolff tower cranes to work on the Elephant and Castle Town Centre project - the redevelopment of the former Elephant and Castle shopping centre in London.
Multiplex plans to employ six Wolff tower cranes on the project, the other three will be rented from the Wolffkran UK fleet and will be joined by a Terex CTL430 tower crane from the same fleet.

Multiplex head of equipment Paul Hartigan said: "Multiplex Plant and Equipment has selected Wolffkran on the ECTC Project due to the experience we had with them on recent high rise projects at Damac Tower and Marble Arch Place. Wolffkran are very versatile, they have designed the tower crane scheme utilising our own cranes where possible."
The first new crane to be delivered, a Wolff 700 B, has already been erected, and will shortly be joined by a Wolff 235 B and three 355 B, with 60 metres of jib, and large tower base.

''These are the first Wolff cranes to be owned by Multiplex Plant and Equipment. The decision to buy was influenced by first hand experience with the brand on numerous successful projects over the past eight years," said Dave Holder, Wolffkran group’s rental fleet operations director.
