Hocap of Holland has sold a 4.9 tonne Maeda LC785 mini crawler crane to assist on board one of the world’s largest crane barges.
Herreema’s Thialf deep water construction vessel is equipped with two 7,826 tonne cranes – each almost 1,600 times the size of the little Maeda!

The LC785 is almost lost alongside the big cranes
The LC 785 will assist with a variety of activities on the Thialf including the lifting of shackles and smaller ancillary gear.
The choice of a Maeda LC785 was based on the positive experience of an LC755, that Hereema purchased to work on the Balder, another deep water barge that the company owns.

The Maeda LC785 as sold to Herreema
The Thialf is over 200 metres long and almost 90 metres wide. The two cranes have a capacity of 7,826 tonnes each and a maximum lifting height of 95 metres.
