IPAF Summit breaks records
Today’s IPAF AGM Summit and dinner attracted a record attendance as Wayne Lawson was confirmed by members as the new president, with Steve Shaughnessy handing over following the completion of his duties for 2010.

Presentations at the summit included information from Gérard Deprez of Loxam on the differences between generalist and specialist rental companies, with details of his own business which includes examples of both.
Steve Shaughnessy presented a new project -Power Up - to promote the use of powered access equipment across more trades, though an industry funded advertising campaign and website. Jennifer Mathis covered 2010 industry statistics that are included in the IPAF access rental market study.

A record number turned out for the Summit and Dinner
Chris Wraith of Lavendon made an excellent case for a campaign for the wider adoption of outrigger spreader mats and the provision of uniform information and outrigger mats by all manufacturers of aerial lifts that require outriggers.
Finally Andrew Fishburn of Spirit Network talked about the importance and benefits of providing rental salesmen with proper training.
The dinner this evening will be attended by well over 450 to witness the annual awards ceremony.
