Altrad buys Beaver 84
French based scaffold and light equipment manufacturer Altrad has acquired UK based Beaver 84.
The deal was agreed at the end of April with Beaver’s parent – construction materials conglomerate SIG Trading - for an undisclosed sum.
The Beaver business will continue to operate from its 11 locations around the UK with Steve Tysoe continuing to run it with existing employees. The business will be renamed Altrad Beaver 84. It is the 53rd company in the Altrad group.

Beaver 84 employs 150 with annual revenues of £25 million generated principally from sales of scaffolding, fencing and groundwork’s products and a rental operation that the buyer describes as a ‘secondary element’.
Chief executive Mohed Altrad said: “This exciting acquisition provides a company that is strategically located for the convenience of the customers with a UK wide pool of expertise, while benefiting from the local knowledge and support.”
“Our aim is to grow the business in a controlled and sustainable manner for the benefit of customers, employees, shareholders and partners. I am very keen to hear from companies that are interested in joining the group if they are involved in any element of scaffolding, cement mixers or wheelbarrows.”
Montpelier based Altrad specialises in the manufacturing and sales of scaffolding, cement mixers and wheelbarrows, along with additional services in the scaffolding sector. In recent years the company has acquired BarOmix, the Belle Group and Plettac.
