Access in Turkey
As demand for powered access grows in Turkey so does the attendance of suppliers at the country’s construction and building exhibitions.
A regular reader from Turkey, Isil Bilgin who works with İstanbul Vınc and Tower Rent has sent some photos from the recently held Yapı Fuarı İstanbul 2011 fair held at the end of April.

The Marca stand with a Maeda spider crane on show
Among the equipment on display was a 22 metre Holland Lift scissor lift, an Instant alloy tower display, a 17 metre CTE Traccess 170 spider type lift a similar unit from SUP, a mast climber from Safi and many others besides.

Tower Rent was established in 2008 and focuses on selling and renting aluminium scaffold towers and low level podium stands and is the Instant dealer, it also handles IPS, CTE and Holland Lift.

A violinist serenades from a CTE Traccess 170 - He needs a harness!
The stand featured a number of attractive ideas including a violin player who serenaded a lady in the Holland Lift platform…. Sadly there were too many examples of poor practice - machines without outrigger mats, violinists in boom lifts without a harness and one of a scissor lift with at least 10 people in the platform.. thankfully there was plenty of capacity to handle the load but……

Turkey is a rapidly developing market but it is easier to get these things right at the start than waiting for people to develop bad habits and then try and change them .. so Isil make safety and good practice a key issue next year.
