Rental show busier than ever
The ARA Rental show opened yesterday to some of the largest crowds of visitors for many years. Exhibitors were generally very busy all day with a real ‘buzz’ in the hall and exhibitors reporting a good number of leads and buying interest.
Sadly for us, there was little on show in terms of completely new products, Custom Equipment unveiled at least three new prototype models, Genie showed off a heavy duty telehandler but remains tight lipped about its new big boom which will be unveiled at Bauma and that's almost it in terms of machines that have not already reported on, but we have not covered all of the show yet.
Skyjack announced that it will build its 250,000th lift this year and in order to celebrate the milestone it has launched Quest 2013 to find the oldest Skyjack scissor lift still working. The owner of the machine will win a brand new scissor lift.

Skyjack president Brad Boehler introduces the Quest to find the oldest working Skyjack scissor lift to celebrate production of its 250,000th unit- it also displayed a new 19ft scissor in the company's original colours
The campaign was launched by the company’s longest serving employee Sid DeWay, who was with the company at the start in 1985 and recalled the celebration dinner when the young company shipped its 100th unit.
We will let the photographs tell the rest of the story and will be back at the show today.
