CPA appoints director
The UK crane and equipment rental association CPA has appointed Kevin Minton as a director, reporting to CPA’s chief executive Colin Wood and the CPA Council.
As part of Minton’s new role he will step up his work with Government bodies and industry associations as well as represent CPA on CONIAC – HSE’s leading policy committee for the construction sector. Other roles include chairing the European Rental Association’s safety and sustainability committee as well as continuing his involvement with the Lighthouse Club as chairman of the Midlands Branch.
Minton has spent the last five years at the CPA as a senior manager with special emphasis on health and safety issues. In 2009 he played a key role in forming the Strategic Forum Plant Safety Group and since then has co-ordinated its activity. More recently he chaired the work group behind the new Good Practice Guide on medical fitness for plant operators.

CPA’s chief executive Colin Wood said: “Kevin has a wealth of experience working for trade associations in the plant hire sector. He has been with the CPA for over five years now, in a senior management position, having previously worked for the HAE for almost twenty years before that. I look forward to working with him in his new role.”
Minton added: “I am looking forward to expanding my role at the CPA and getting more closely involved with the industry. I look forward to meeting members at this summer’s exhibitions and am always interested in what our members have to say, my job is as much about listening, as it is talking.”
