Liebherr's orders at Bauma
UK based crawler crane specialist Weldex has placed a €20 million order for 11 Liebherr crawler cranes while Dubai based Al Faris takes the first 750 tonne LTM 1750-9.1 All Terrain crane in the Middle East.
Weldex’s order consists of three 220 tonne LTR 1220 telescopic crawler cranes, two 600 tonne LR 1600’s, two 100 tonne LTR 1100’s and two 60 tonne LTR 1060 crawler cranes. It has also placed an order for one of Liebherr’s newly launched 1,000 tonne LR 11000 and 250 tonne LR 1250 crawler cranes. The cranes will be used for projects in the oil, gas and renewable energy sectors, both in the UK as well as further afield.

Iain McGilvray, managing director of Weldex, said: “This order enables us to maintain and upgrade our fleet, offering more options to our ever expanding customer base. The LR 11000 cranes fit nicely into the existing fleet and give greater options between the 750 tonne and 1350 tonne machines we currently run.”

Following Weldex’s order Dubai based Al Faris Equipment Rentals took delivery of the first 750 tonne LTM 1750-9.1 All Terrain crane for the Middle East. Established in 1992, Al Faris is now one of the largest crane rental and transport companies in the Middle East. The company concentrates on the petrochemical and oil and gas industry.
