The first Ruthmann T-720 in France
The brand new machine went straight out on a job in Dijon’s historic central district where it was put to work on a new five star hotel next to the Grand Hotel de la Cloche in the city centre. The building was constructed between 1881 and 1884 and was only just saved from demolition in the 1970s when a preservation order was placed on the façade and walls.
The new lift was not only easily able to work on the entire façade and roof from one position, but its long telescopic job allowed to reach over the hotel to the rear of the building where it carried out repair and maintenance work on the gutters and roof slates.

Hi Gary and cfk88:
This machine is mounted on a 8x4*4, one axle front, 3 at the back.
Axle 1 & Axle 4 are steering axles
Axle 2 and Axle 3 are driving axles
The wheelbase is very short (4,5m instead of 5,1m as it would have been the case for a common truck configuration 2-2).
As a consequence, the turning radius is much better than every other combination. Furthermore, in rough terrain, the driving axles give the driving power exactly at the place where the load is for optimum traction.
Front overhang: Less than 2m
powlo
jolly good job...

Gary with equipment of this size and due to the front end over hang a route to the job site should be planned before the job and a leading escort vehicle used if required.

A lovely machine, but I am not sure about that front end overhang. I wouldn't like to be trying tight turns in narrow streets, and seeing round a junction with the eye line so far back from the front of the unit is going to be very difficult.
