Sales manager for Mitas

Off-road tyre manufacturer Mitas Tyres has appointed David Brassington as sales manager for Ireland.

Brassington will be responsible for building the company’s dealer network and working with both existing and potential customers to raise the profile of Mitas products. He joins the company after spending nine years with Michelin as area sales manager, working with tyre distributors, wholesalers, dealers and customers in the car, truck and earthmover sectors throughout the east of Ireland. Prior to that he spent three years with entertainment distributor Major Distribution and four with home entertainment company Chartbusters.

He said: “The Mitas brand has enormous potential in Ireland which is why I am delighted to be taking on this new challenge at this time, increasing the company’s dealer representation and working with both existing and potential customers to raise the profile of our products. Technology is evolving rapidly and Mitas is committed to providing advanced radial tyres to ensure that end-users obtain the very best performance from equipment to maximise productivity and profitability.”

Based in the Czech Republic, Mitas has been producing off-road agricultural, industrial and motorcycle tyres since the 1930s. It currently operates from three plants in the Czech Republic, one in Serbia and one in the USA. In 2014, agricultural sales accounted for 70 percent of its revenue, with industrial/truck tyres and motorcycle tyres making up 20 and five percent respectively.
