Riding the nose

Spotted by a reader in Pune, India, a man riding the boom nose of a tractor type pick & carry crane to reach the top of a lighting pole.

As if sitting on the boom nose while the boom is telescoped to its full height, was not bad enough, our correspondent says that the boom was out over the centre of a busy highway, with no effort to cordon-off or take any precautions.

In the even of a fall - quite likely - the man would fall into traffic, so that should he survive the fall, he would probably be run over.
