Streamlined Genie boom maintenance

Genie has introduced a streamlined and standardised boom lift maintenance regime that extends some service and inspection intervals and condenses 24 service manuals into one.

The extended inspection intervals are the result of an extensive component test programme that helped identify when issues might occur under particular types of use in various operating conditions and environments.
This has allowed it to be far more specific about when each component or part needs to be checked. It believes that the changes can save an average of 10 man hours per lift per year, with many tasks shifted from quarterly to six monthly, while some have been eliminated entirely.

The new protocols apply to all Genie S- and Z-boom lifts built in the past three years and going forward. A video explaining the changes can be viewed by clicking here

The company plans to make the same changes to its scissor lift and telehandler ranges early next year.
