60 Skyjacks for Modern

The Singapore branch of Modern Access & Equipment has taken delivery of 60 Skyjack booms and scissor lifts for its rental fleet.

The move follows its appointment earlier this year as Skyjack dealer for Singapore. The order, comprises 50 slab electric scissor lifts - mostly 19ft SJIII 3219 and 32ft SJIII 4632. But also includes the first 86ft SJ86 T telescopic boom lift to arrive in Asia. The new machines join around 400 Skyjacks already in the Modern fleet.

Modern Equipment has taken 60 new Skyjacks

Modern’s assistant general manager Klein Phua said: “Our customers demand products that are easy to use, and we look for machines that are easy to service. The Skyjack machines are a perfect fit for our fleet — their reliable design means they are ideal rental units, and when there is a breakdown we can be sure the machines will be back in operation at minimum cost.”

“We were very impressed with the performance of the initial 260 machines we ordered at the end of 2013. Adding more units to the existing fleet will ensure we have enough machines to meet increasing demand for both rental and sales activities”.

“Modern is one of the biggest names in equipment rental in Singapore, so when we supplied 260 units to the company back in 2013, it made everyone else sit up and take notice,” said Simon Cracknell, Skyjack director of business development in Asia. “Partnering with them as a dealer is really a win-win situation for both companies.”

The Modern is based in Hong Kong with branches in Macau and Singapore which offers aerial work platforms, scaffolding and fall arrest equipment for sale and rental.
