1,000 tonner for Prangl

Austrian crane and access rental company Prangl has taken delivery of a new nine axle Terex AC 1000-9 which travels with its 50 metre main boom in position.

Once on site a further 50 metres of boom can be added in addition to other extension and jibs to take the maximum system length to 163.3 metres. Maximum counterweight is 228 tonnes. Overall length on the road is 20.31 metres.

Prangl claims that once on site the crane has the fastest set up times in its class – which only really includes the Liebherr LTM12000-9.1. The company has taken the unit with a suite of options including superlift and aims to use t for work in the wind turbine and large industrial plant sectors.

The nine axle AC1000-9 has an overall length of 22.3 metres


The new crane went straight to work at the Windpark Pretul, 1,600 metres above sea level in the Styria region of Austria, where Prangl is the sole contractor for all crane and logistics services. other cranes on site include 600 tonne lattice and 280 tonne telescopic crawler cranes a blade transporter, self-propelled heavy-duty modules, a blade transport system and various auxiliary cranes, aerial work platforms and telehandlers.
