Corporate development role for Lavendon
UK based international access rental group Lavendon has appointed Wayne Smith as corporate development director.
Smith joins the company from generator rental company Aggreko where he has been director of business development for Power Solutions for the past 10 months, having been responsible for the Europe, Africa and the Middle East region since starting with the company in late 2013. Prior to that he worked with LaFarge where he held a number of senior positions, after having joined the cement group in North America in 2004. He subsequently took up roles in China and South East Asia, culminating with role of head of strategy & development – Asia, based in Paris.

Wayne Smith
Before moving to Lafarge he spent two and a half years with McMaster-Carr Supply Company in the New York area, and started his career in 1998 as an analyst with Accenture in Florida. He officially takes up his new job on Monday, and will be based at the group’s Lutterworth headquarters.
Chief executive Don Kenny said: “The appointment of Wayne Smith is pivotal in realising the next stage in the group’s development. We believe the organisation has a strong platform and is now well positioned to achieve its future ambitions.
