First mobile for Balmer
German heavy transport company Balmer Spedition und LKW-Service has purchased a new 180 tonne Liebherr LTM 1160-5.2 All Terrain crane - the company’s first mobile crane.
The new five-axle crane features a six section 62 metre main boom and Liebherr’s VarioBallast system allowing operation at 5.23 metres or 4.73 metres ballast radii. The overall width is 2.75 metres and it is powered by a single six-cylinder chassis mounted Liebherr diesel. It will go straight to work on loading applications and the erection of wind turbines where it will be lifting 80 tonne tower sections and gondolas of up to 62 tonnes.
