220T Tadano for Davies
UK rental company Davies crane hire has taken delivery of its new, 220 tonne Tadano ATF 220G-5 All Terrain crane with the latest UK specification.
The new Euro 4 two engine, five axle crane - which was displayed at Bauma in April - features a 68 metre seven section main boom with a fully hydraulic luffing swingaway extension, including an integrated 5.8 metre heavy lift extension.
The crane has a special counterweight configuration for the UK which allows it to travel with 18.3 tonnes on board, within the 16.5 tonne STGO axle loads. It also features a new cab and is equipped with asymmetric outrigger configuration and Tadano’s lift adjuster system that compensates for deflection on long booms, when lifting a load.

The new crane takes the Tadano content of the Davies fleet to more than half
The new crane is the sixth Tadano purchased by Davies in the past nine months, joining three 40 tonne ATF40Gs, one 100 tonne ATF 100G-4 and one 130 tonne ATF 130G-5. The new cranes take the Tadano share of the 40 unit Davis fleet to over 50 percent. Other models include 50 tonne ATF 50Gs, 70 tonne ATF 70Gs and a 400 tonne ATF 400G-6.
Managing director Malcolm Davies said: "We are very impressed with the Tadano ATF range, they have replicated the quality and reliability of the old Tadano truck cranes in a modern All Terrain crane without over complicating things. Add to that a can-do attitude from the sales, service and spare parts at Tadano UK and you are on to a winner!"
