Liebherr ships first LHM800s
Liebherr has shipped the first two 308 tonne LHM 800 mobile harbour cranes to Montecon in Uruguay.
With a maximum capacity of 308 tonnes, the crane can lift at radius of up to 64 metres, with the ability to handle container vessels up to 22 rows across, Liebherr claims that the LHM 800 is the most powerful mobile harbour crane in the world. The first unit was ordered back in 2015,
See Montecon to take first LHM 800 but now a second has been added. Both machines have started their 13,000 kilometre journey from Rostock, Germany to Montevideo, Uruguay.
Montecon bought its first Liebherr mobile harbour crane 15 years ago with the purchase of an LHM 400. This was followed by an LHM 500 three years later, and another in 2006. In 2012 and 2013, Montecon ordered three LHM 600s, which was the largest model in Liebherr's range at that time.

The two LHM 800 cranes en route to Montevideo
Leopold Berthold managing director of Liebherr-MCCtec Rostock said: “The two LHM 800's in container configuration are a future-oriented addition to the existing cargo handling fleet of Montecon. Thanks to the existing fleet of Liebherr mobile harbour cranes and the two new LHM 800, Montevideo represents a highly attractive port of call for shipping lines”.
