Eight Genies for Turkey
Turkish steel erector Aksal Çelik has taken delivery of eight 135ft Genie ZX-135/70 articulated boom lifts from local distributor Borusan Makina to help with the construction of the new Istanbul Grand Airport.
The ZX-135/70 has a maximum working height of 43.15 metres and an outreach of 21.26 metres with 272kg platform capacity. The new airport is set to become the largest in the world when completed around 2018. The Genie booms will be used to help install the roof structure on four of the terminals.
Harun Sit of Borusan Makina said: “Besides an excellent reputation for reliability, our customer chose the Genie ZX-135/70 boom lift for its impressive working envelope and below grade abilities - the equivalent of which they were unable to find in similar units from other brands. When they analysed the machine’s working envelope along with the telescoping and rotating capabilities of its Jib, they felt confident that it would be ideal for this long-term, high-precision task.”
