Platform Basket moves into Peru
Spider and boom lift manufacturer Platform Basket has appointed Limpie as its official dealer in Peru.
Lima based Limpie was established as a cleaning company in 1978 and gone on to become one of the largest sanitation related service companies in the country. Its safety policies have resulted in an increased use of aerial work platforms on its cleaning projects. Having seen demand for this grow it realised that the local market was sufficiently well served in terms of rental availability, or even the distribution of many products which are readily available in more developed markets.
Having decided to do something about it, a team from the company visited Bauma earlier this year and among the discussions it had and the products it looked at was Platform Basket. The two companies began talking and having reached an agreement the first units have now arrived. Limpie has imported and distributed cleaning equipment for several years so adding aerial lifts was not as large a departure as it might have been had it been just a cleaning contractor.
