Magna acquires OBO Tyres

Magna Tyres Group has acquired OBO Tyres, the largest tyre retreader in the Netherlands as part of Magna's global expansion plans.

Founded in 1959 OBO specialises in producing retreaded tyres for the agricultural and Off road market along with additional tyre repair services. It was recently appointed the distributor of the Magna agricultural and MTP OTR tyres for the Benelux market.

Magna chief executive Michael de Ruijter said:“We expect OBO Tyres to be an attractive add-on for existing Magna Tyres customers but also an opening to new markets."

OBO Tyres owner Herman Hutten added: "There are many synergies between the companies which both will benefit. It will undoubtedly result in a better market position in the retreading business. With Magna Tyres as the new owner, the company will continue in the way as I have always seen it - sustainable retreading professionals."
