Trapped linesman
A linesman was stranded in an aerial work platform yesterday when an electricity pole fell onto his platform in Westboro, Massachusetts.
The man, an employee of the National Grid, was repairing the pole when it went over when the rotten base finally gave way causing the pole to fall onto the boom of the platform. While the live power lines draped over the boom of the platform, preventing it falling across the road. The local fire department arranged for the lines to be disconnected before bringing him down. He was completely unharmed.
