Manitou confirms new US president

Manitou has confirmed the appointment of Richard Alton as president of its US based Compact Equipment Division which manufactures Gehl and Mustang equipment and sells Manitou products in North America. He replaces Daniel Miller who announced his departure earlier this year. He will report directly to group chief executive Michel Denis.

He joins the company from Contech Engineered Solutions, where he has been vice president of distribution for the past year, having been with JLG for more than 21 years, where he was vice president sales, market development and customer care for the more than six years. Before that he spent over four years as general manager of the JLG/Cat Alliance. Prior to that he held a number of different sales roles, having joined the company in 1996.

Speaking of his role Alton said: “I am fortunate to have this opportunity to work with a world class organisation. And I am looking forward to expanding the product portfolio, innovations, and product quality to continuously improve the customer experience. “

Michel Denis added: “I would like to thank Dan Miller for his years of dedication and committed service to Manitou. We wish him well as he pursues the next chapter in his life. And we are very excited about being able to bring Rick into the organisation at this time. His experience and talent will be a definite benefit to manage the growth we anticipate from these changes.”
