Fatal crane overturn

Two men died when a Rough Terrain crane overturned at Pelican Island, Galveston -Houston - Texas on Wednesday.

The incident occurred at T&T Marine Offshore on Pelican Island, Galveston, when the crane, which appears to be a new 80 ton Tadano GT 800XL overturned while operating free on wheels with a fair bit of boom extended. The crane went over sideways with the boom landing on two men - Chi Vong and Blake Carlisle - instantly killing them. A third man - possibly the crane operator - was injured although apparently not too seriously.

UPDATE
The families of at least one of the two men have sued T&T Marine parent company Teichman Group, and direct employer Express Professional Services. It seems that Vong had only started work at the facility the day before.
