Tree trimmer electrocuted
Another tree care worker has died after he came into contact with an overhead power line while using a aerial work platform, this time in the UK.
Marcus Pepper, the owner of tree care and landscaping company Wellington House Group was trimming trees at the Hall Grove Farm Industrial Estate in Bagshott, Surrey on Monday. He and a colleague were working from a platform when he came into contact with a high voltage power line running through the trees. The other man manged to jump clear landing in the limbs of a tree and then climbing down. Pepper was declared dead at the scene.
A police spokesman said: “We attended Hall Grove Farm Industrial Estate where a man sadly died. It is believed that he was electrocuted. The man’s family have been informed and the incident has been referred to the Health & Safety Executive and Her Majesty’s Coroner for Surrey.”
