RTGs for Canadian terminal

Canada based Halterm Container Terminal has ordered three Konecranes rubber tyred gantry (RTG) cranes.

Scheduled for delivery next year to the terminal in Halifax, Nova Scotia, the RTGs will stack one over five containers high, and six containers wide including a truck lane. They will be equipped with Konecranes’ Active Load Control system, which eliminates container sway, as well as the Autosteering feature, which keeps the crane on a straight, pre-programmed drive path.

The cranes will be delivered next year

Konecranes sales director Jussi Suhonen said: “Halterm Container Terminal has been a good customer for many years, and already operates four Konecranes RTGs and two Konecranes reachstackers. Konecranes has been servicing the RTGs, upgrading their drives, and adding new features. I’m pleased that this has all been instrumental in Halterm’s growth, and I look forward to continuing our successful relationship.”
