Liebherr RTs for Wasel

German crane and heavy lifting contractor Wasel has taken delivery of two Liebherr Rough Terrain cranes, a 90 tonne LRT 1090-2.1 and a 100 tonne LRT 1100-2.1, with four more Rough Terrain cranes on order.

The LRT 1090-2.1 features a 47 metre main boom and a 10.5 to 19 metre bi-fold swingaway option with up to 40 degrees of offset. The LRT 1100-2.1 has a 50 metre main boom and features the same extension as the LRT 1090-2.1. Both cranes also feature Liebherr's VarioBase outrigger setup system.

Wasel plans to deploy both cranes in opencast mining as well as on longer contracts on major construction sites.

Based in Bergheim, western Germany, Wasel employs 435 and runs a fleet that includes 135 Liebherr mobile, as well as 400 Liebherr tower cranes.
