Big truck mount accident
A large truck mounted lift crashed into traffic on the E34/N49 in Oosteeklo, Belgium on Monday.
The police suggest that the driver was travelling at a normal freeway speed, spotted the queuing traffic too late, and ploughed into a van, a car and a large milk tanker which split open and spilled its contents onto the road. The driver of the platform – a 90 metre Palfinger P900, owned by Netherlands based Collé Rental & Sales - was badly injured, although conscious. He had to be cut from his badly damaged cab and was rushed to hospital, yesterday he was mercifully reported to be in a stable condition and out of danger.
