IPAF publishes 2018 Rental Reports
IPAF, the International Powered Access Federation has released its 2018 Rental Market Reports which estimates a population of 1.35 million aerial lifts in rental fleets around the world, an eight percent increase on last year's estimates.
The report indicates that the global aerial work platform market is booming, with the sector recovering in places such as Spain and even Brazil, both of which suffered severely during economic downturns. The US rental market has grown by around four percent, with the total number of units surpassing 580,000. Rental rates increased slightly, with similar growth expected for 2018.
The European market, which included Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Sweden and the UK, also had another positive year. With all indicators positive in all of the European countries under study, for the second year in a row, with most markets experiencing strong overall revenue growth.
Growth in South East Asia was driven by China, Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand, while in the Middle East the UAE experienced continued growth in fleet size and rental activity. Meanwhile, the central American aerial lift rental fleet grew, but at a slower rate than in most other markets.
The report is compiled by Ducker Worldwide in an easy to read format, highlighting key facts and figures, such as fleet size, utilisation rates and machine retention periods. The new report is available to purchase now at
