JLG launches small platform

JLG has announced that all of its internal combustion powered boom lifts can now be equipped with an optional smaller platform.

JLG says that the platform, measuring 762 x 914mm, is targeted at specific applications involving work among congested overhead structures, such as the construction or repair of bridges, where the smaller basket is easier to navigate between the steel and concrete support structures. The manufacturer also expects the new option to be popular in petrochemical plants, refineries, co-generation facilities, stadiums and convention centres.

The new, smaller JLG platform

The platform comes with JLG’s SkyGuard secondary guarding system, which can be activated from a variety of angles and provides additional protection without reducing the work envelope of the boom lift.

Senior product marketing manager Jan-Willem van Wier said: “These new smaller platforms help JLG meet the growing market demand for compact platforms to complete work in tight spaces. Smaller platforms allow workers to access work areas where traditional platforms wouldn’t fit.”
