Business development manager at Point of Rental

Point of Rental Software has appointed Simon Gibbons as business development and implementation manager, based in the UK.

Gibbons has a 27 year career in the rental and building supplies markets, and until last year worked with Bradfords Building Supplies as sales director of tool hire. Prior to that he was head of hire at Selco Builders Warehouse, having joined the company in 2014.

He began his career in 1992 with Jewson, the builders merchants as operations manager, moving to Speedy Hire in 2001 as a regional manager. A year later he switched to A-Plant, where he was operations manager, leaving in 2007 to join Travis Perkins as regional manager – hire. After seven and a half years in the role he moved to his role at Selco.

Gibbons said: “Having used Point of Rental’s software in a number of previous positions, and having dealt with the company as a customer, it’s always been clear to me that their commitment to their products and their customers was second to none.
