New Raimondi for Nurol
Turkish contractor Nurol Construction has taken delivery of a new Raimondi LR213 luffing jib tower crane to support the construction of the Corniche Tower in Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates.
The new 14 tonne capacity LR213 is working alongside one of Nurol’s existing Raimondi LR165s on the 35 storey mixed use development located on waterfront.
The LR213 is equipped with a 55 metre jib and a hook height of 45 metres, it will eventually be climbed to 187 metres. Raimondi sold the new crane through its Middle East operation and provided a three day crane operator training session, while the contractor has also signed up to a monthly maintenance programme with Raimondi Middle East.

Raimondi commercial director for the Middle East Wael Hasan said: “The LR213 is equipped with the Deluxe R16 Crane Cab, and was chosen for its maximum lifting capacity of 14 tonnes and its versatility in areas with difficult to obtain over sailing permissions. This jobsite has multiple security restrictions together with an extremely congested set of high rise developments, so much of our team’s support focused on site planning ahead of the installations.”
“Later, we will be supporting this jobsite by dismantling the LR165 using the LR213 as a cost saving initiative, and to adhere to our client’s needs. Raimondi dedicated a considerable amount of technical support and technical study to propose this solution for our client. Due to the existing developments surrounding the jobsite, we were informed that mobile cranes are not permitted in the area. We then executed a study and came up with the solution of utilising the LR213 in the dismantle process.”
