Lucky escape filmed

A lineman cutting wires from a burning and fallen overhead power line pole in Cleveland, Ohio, had a lucky escape on Friday after a large truck passing at speed pulled it over.

Cleveland Public Power arrived on the scene but realised that the pole belonged to FirstEnergy. When the FirstEnergy crew arrived its work platform turned out to be too low to reach the wires. So the Cleveland Public power lineman used his platform to assist.

The lineman begins cutting the wires as the truck passes by

As the lineman prepared to removed the wires, the burnt pole came down and a passing truck caught one of the falling wires and pulled it over while the lineman was alongside, he managed to duck clear of the falling wire and was unhurt. The entire event was caught on video.
