Platform fatality at Disney

A man died last week at Disney’s Epcot centre in Orlando, Florida after falling from an aerial work platform.

The man George Grimes, 58, a Sunbelt Rentals employee, was found lying on the ground below the platform, understood to be a mast boom, behind one of the pavilions on Tuesday 12th March. According to a witness he had been loading the machine onto a truck at the time and was not wearing a harness. Another witnesses claimed to have seen him catapulted out of the platform. The funeral will take place later today.

A statement from Sunbelt said: "We are deeply saddened to learn of the loss of one of our team members in a tragic accident. We are working closely with the local authorities."
