Riwal adds new customer technology
Dutch international rental company Riwal has launched an augmented reality feature for its Riwal Rental App, and updated its My Riwal online service.
The augmented reality feature, developed in house, uses the camera of a mobile device - smartphone or iPad etc… - to allow customers to generate a fully scaled image of an aerial work platform - selected from the menu of Riwal’s 50 most popular aerial lifts - against a building, vessel or job etc... in order to determine whether or not that particular model is suitable for the work to be carried out. The company plans to add telehandlers at a later date. The feature is currently only available on iOS models, but will be available on Android devices shortly.

The updated My Riwal service includes features that allow customers to view their rental history online, while also being able to order further units, see how often each machine they already have on rent is being used, and where. Riwal is also able to provide data on the fuel consumption, CO2 emissions along with battery usage and recharging.
My Riwal is currently available in the Netherlands, Belgium, Denmark, Sweden, France and Poland - other countries will follow at a later date.
Chief operating officer Pedro Torres said: “My Riwal is designed to help customers make truly informed decisions, by thinking not just about the rental price, but the entire cost of renting and operating each and every machine. By giving customers a better insight into these costs, Riwal hopes to help make its customers more efficient and productive.”
