Comet now a SpA

Italian truck mounted platform manufacturer Comet Officine has become a public limited company – a ‘Società per Azioni’ - or S.p.A. It was previously a private limited liability company – a ‘Società a responsabilità limitata’ - or S.r.l.

The change, which requires a higher capitalisation and stricter regulation/corporate governance, comes at the end of what the company describes as an “excellent year” for the company, during which it quietly acquired the Botti recovery/tow truck business located in Bedizzole in the province of Brescia.

The company also added 2,000 square metres of production capacity at a plant in San Giustino, between Rome and Florence, where it produces its X Trux range of articulated platforms.

Comet has also made significant investments in logistics and product support while recruiting new staff in these areas as well as expanding its sales team.
