Van strikes platform
A man was seriously injured on Wednesday when the platform he was using was struck by a van in Siegen, to the east of Cologne, Germany
The man, 31, had just set up his aerial lift at side of the road, and had elevated the platform to a height of around two metres, at which point it was protruding into the street. The van driver did not notice the platform and ploughed into it ejecting the platform operator from the basket. One has to assume that he was not wearing a harness, or had not attached his lanyard yet.
The operator was very seriously injured and remains in hospital.
