IPAF Covid-19 safety guidance
IPAF has published a new six page 'Covid-19 Safe Operating Guidance' document, intended to provide practical guidance and help on the safety measures required to minimise exposure to Covid-19 and risk assessments for anyone using aerial work platforms, mast climbers or construction hoists.
The guidance covers social distancing and safety/hygiene requirements all of which are aimed at reducing the risk of infection and clear guidance on carrying out a full Covid-19 risk assessment, useful for contractors, rental companies and any company using aerial work platforms.
All organisations need to prepare a Covid-19 risk assessment to ensure machines can be used and work undertaken within nation guidance. The risk assessment should be based on the hierarchy of control method to eliminate or reduce risk.
The six page guidance, currently only available in English, is comprehensive, clear and very useful. It can be downloaded free of charge from the IPAF website or you can simply
click here to open or download. We will also add it to the Safety section of the Vertikal online library.
