21 Genie scissors for GK

Irish rental GK Hire has taken delivery of 21 units of Genie’s 13ft GS-1330m micro scissor lifts.

The Dublin based company ordered them to meet increasing demand for self-propelled lifts that can cope with suspended floors and other weight sensitive applications, including indoor construction fit out work, facilities maintenance tasks in hotels, supermarkets, theatres and retail spaces.

Weighing just 885kg, the GS-1330m offers a working height of 5.9 metres and a platform capacity of 227kg. and yet it weighs just 885kg. Driveable at full height and with direct electric wheel motor drive as standard, it has an overall width of 780mm and an overall length of 1.4 metres.

Three of the 21 units delivered

GK Hire managing director Jerome Cunnane said: “The Genie GS-1330m meets all the specifications needed in clean room settings. In our region, pharmaceutical plants and data centres are the real target area for these units where we see great potential. For us, the e-drive feature is as a huge plus for clean room work where customers do not want to contend with contaminating and soiling surfaces due to hydraulic leaks.”

“Feedback from customers has been great concerning the folding platform that makes the unit easy to transport in very tight areas, including lifts. It is just right for work on mezzanine floors making it quite a revelation among professionals for office fit outs.”

GK Hire (Gerard Kelly Hire) was established in 1990 and operates from two locations, Dublin city centre and Tallaght. It runs an access fleet that includes boom lifts, scissors, push around mast lifts and mast booms - mostly from Genie - as well as telehandlers and more general rental equipment including earth moving.
