Venpa buys Locatelli

Italian aerial lift and rental company Venpa 3 has purchased crane manufacturer Locatelli. Officially confirming the story Vertikal.Net ran almost two weeks ago on the sale of Locatelli. See: Locatelli & CTE.

Venpa 3, originally an offshoot of Genie Distributor CTE has shared ownership with the CTE group. It operates from 36 locations in Italy and Eastern Europe. Venpa has more than 3,500 machines including self propelled aerial platforms and mobile cranes as well as general construction and earthmoving equipment.

In September 2005 it entered into an agreement with JCB to further develop construction rental with a fleet of 2,000 units over four years.

Locatelli specializes in the manufacture of rough terrain and city cranes from 12.5 to 60 tonnes capacity. It is based in northern Italy near Bergamo, 50km away from Milan.

No financial details have been released.
