Fatal aerial lift incident

A man has died and another is seriously injured after they both fell from the basket of an aerial work platform last Thursday while working on a roof at a farm near the village of Millières in the Bourgogne region of France – due west of Monceau les Mines.

Apparently the two men - brothers - were using the platform to work on a roof, and were employed by a company based in the nearby town of Chalmoux. The man who died was in his 50s, and was declared dead at the scene, while his brother was airlifted to hospital and is said to be in serious condition.

At this stage we do not have any details of what type of platform was involved, or even if it was a an aerial lift or a platform attached to a telehandler.
