Platform electrocution in Canada
A man working from a platform was electrocuted in the town of Sainte-Lucie-de-Beauregard on the US/Canada border due east of Quebec City in Canada last week.
The man, 69, was apparently installing a new electrical cable to supply a nearby maple grove when he was struck. The emergency services brought him down from the platform but he was declared dead on arrival at the hospital.
A spokesman for the Sûreté du Québec which investigated the incident said that the man was possibly electrocuted but was unable to confirm it. They also said that the incident took place on private land and that the work was unpaid.
