Werner Gronau 1958 -2020
We have received the sad news that Werner Gronau, technical director of Kiloutou Germany, has died following a short illness.
Werner spent his entire working life and career in the aerial lift rental business, having joined market leader Gardemann as a service engineer in 1981. He moved up through the ranks, becoming technical director in 2004, and remaining on board as technical director for Lavendon Germany after the group acquired Gardemann in 2006.

Werner Gronau was also a good instructor
A company statement said: “We are losing a technical director of exceptional stature who not only had complex knowledge in the area of working at height/access technology, but also made an impression on people. He was an industry expert par excellence and had a good international reputation, especially when it came to occupational safety. As a 37 year veteran in the working at height industry Werner Gronau was one of the pioneers and was therefore recognised and valued as a proven specialist.”
“He played a key role in the development of Kiloutou Germany and was a trusted contact person, especially for the Kiloutou branches operating nationwide. We have not only lost a technical director, but also a reliable friend. We mourn his passing along with Werner's wife Melanie, his son and daughter."
"All declarations of support that reach the rental company will be forwarded to the family.”
We will naturally also forward any messages that are posted here.
