200t Tadano for Armstrong

Canadian crane rental company Armstrong Crane & Rigging has taken delivery of a 200 tonne Tadano ATF 200G-5 All Terrain crane.

The five axle ATF 200G-5 features a 60 metre main boom plus an integrated 400mm to 1.2 metre heavy duty jib. It has also been supplied with a custom built three axle Transworld dolly to comply with axle load restrictions in British Columbia.

The company said it opted the ATF 200G-5 due to its ease of operation, driveability and how well the Intarder feature performs on the steep winding roads of Okanagan Valley. On arrival the crane went straight to work and is booked for a series of jobs working on mobile phone masts as well as road and bridge projects.

Armstrong operations and dispatch manager, Greg Nachtegaele, said: “It seemed like our clientele always asked about something a little bit further, a little bit bigger – things like bigger precast panel installation and tower crane erection. Where we used to have to subcontract some larger lifts, now that business will stay in-house. The ATF 200G-5 is simply a perfect all-around machine for a crane rental company that never knows what the next lift is going to be.”

The now crane tops the company's fleet of cranes

Based in Armstrong, British Colombia, family run Armstrong was established by Dave Nachtegaele in 1992 after he purchased a 50 tonne crane. The company now runs a fleet of cranes with capacities from 17 to 100 tonnes alongside its new flagship ATF 200G-5 All Terrain crane.
