LHM 420 replaces 22 year crane

German port operator Rhenus Midgard has taken delivery of a Liebherr LHM 420 mobile harbour crane for its Dradenau terminal in the Port of Hamburg.

Replacing a 22 year old LHM 320 with more than 40,000 hours on the clock, the LHM 420 can lift its maximum capacity of 124 tonnes at a radius of 16 metres and has a maximum radius of 48 metres. The company claims the new crane will offer increased handling speeds, higher capacities and more outreach, while its engine offers lower emissions. It was delivered fully assembled by Rhenus Project Logistics using an open deck sea barge, and will be used to handle breakbulk and containers.
