AB2K expands fleet

Scottish rental company AB2K (formerly AB2000) has taken delivery of a 60 tonne Liebherr LTM 1060-3.1 All Terrain crane as well as a new fleet of delivery vehicles.

The three axle LTM 1060-3.1 features a six section 48 metre main boom topped by a 9.5 to 16 metre bi-fold lattice swingaway extension to offer a maximum tip height of 67.5 metres. It features Liebherr’s Variobase variable outrigger set up as well as its ECOmode and ECOdrive modes. The crane will be stationed at the company’s Glasgow depot where it will serve Scotland and northern England.

AB2K has also added six new Volvo FH16 750 Globetrotter XL tractor units to its fleet. The order consists of a STGO CAT 3 6x4 double drive tractor unit for transporting gross weights up to 120 tonnes, and five STGO CAT 2 6x2 tag axle tractor units for transporting weights up to 80 tonnes. The order follows the delivery of 16 FH16 750 tractor units in 2019 which, at the time, was one of the largest orders of its kind in Europe.

Murray with the company’s six new heavy duty tractor units

Established in 1995, AB2K operates a fleet of 14 cranes with capacities from 40 to 130 tonnes from its locations in Glasgow, Inverness and Aberdeen. Acquired by the Quattro group in 2018 and later renamed AB2K in 2019, the company also offers general construction, rail, crushing and earthworks equipment as well as road sweepers and various training.
