Rental Guys acquires America Rents

Northern Californian general rental company Guy Rents, which trades under the Rental Guys brand, has acquired the assets of Nevada based rental company America Rents, including its two locations - Reno and Carson City - which is currently not operational.

Both companies offer similar product lines which include a wide variety of self-propelled aerial lifts and telehandlers. The two new locations will extend the Rental Guys network to 11 outlets in total, with the others including: Chico, Red Bluff, Eureka, Susanville, Paradise, Redding, Grass Valley Yreka and Orangevale.

The America Rents facility in Reno

Rental Guys chief executive Alex DuBose, said: “The new locations complement our existing facilities in Northern California and will serve as a strong footprint as we enter the Northern Nevada market. We will be investing significantly in new rental fleet in both locations and will re-open the currently closed Carson City facility.”

The founders and owners of America Rents, Paul and Cathie MacDonald, added: “We had many offers, including from some large companies, but felt Alex and his family owned business was the best fit for our employees.”
