Generation 6 for Goeyvaerts
Belgian port equipment and harbour crane rental company Goeyvaerts has ordered two of Konecranes Gottwald latest Generation 6 mobile harbour cranes – see:

Scheduled for delivery in November, the order include hybrid versions of the ESP.6 and ESP.8B (Bulk). The ESP.6 offers a lifting capacity of 125 tonne and a radius of 49 metres, while the larger ESP.8B can handle 150 tonne capacity and has a 54 metre outreach. Both models combine diesel generators with ultracapacitors energy storage units, and can also be run directly from the port’s power grid.

Chief executive Rudi Goeyvaerts, said: “We need more cranes to meet the rental demand. We’ve been with Konecranes a long time and have been very satisfied with our Generation 4 and 5 mobile harbour cranes. We’ve studied the new Generation 6 cranes and its advantages. Indeed, a very smart development, which will raise the benchmark for reliability and service life in the rental market.”

The ESP.6 will be used for for container and general cargo handling

Founded in 1953, Goeyvaerts began with a fleet of barge cranes for handling work on inland waterways. In 2006, it expanded its offering to offer Gottwald, Sennebogen and Mantsinen cranes as well as a range of harbour tractors, trailers, skid skirts and wheel loaders throughout the Benelux area.
