The 5.5t/25.5m 555-260R is the latest 360 degree telehandler from JCB
We have yet to receive the detailed specifications for the new model, however JCB claims its load chart and lifting envelope has a 10 percent competitive advantage over competitive machines. Depending on the market, it can be available with either a Tier 4f or Stage V Dieselmax engine, the latter of which features Auto Engine Idle and Auto Engine Stop functions. The unit is equipped with a two range hydrostatic transmission and can achieve a 25mph/40kph top road speed.

The new telehandler has a similar four section synchronised boom, similar to the smaller model, but with longer sections to achieve the additional five metres of reach. The two new 360 degree models share a good level of componentry with JCB's regular fixed frame models.

Features include radio remote controls for lift functions, auto one touch outrigger set up and levelling - with the ability to vary the spread/short rig - and a RFID attachment recognition system which automatically identifies and adjusts the load chart depending on the attachment in use. These range from forks, a 5.5 tonne carriage winch, a two tonne jib winch, a reduced height jib, a 5.5 tonne hook, 360 degree rotating forks and an access work platform. Additional options include lighting and camera systems.
